Trollbeads works exclusively with natural gemstones of the highest quality. Some of the most well-known and precious gemstones in the Trollbeads collection are Rubies, Emeralds, and Sapphires.
There are many gemstones in the Trollbeads collection. Beyond their timeless beauty and popular use in jewellery making, gemstones have historically been regarded as possessing powers and meanings. Rose quartz is said to open your heart. Labradorite is believed to grant you strength and enhance your endurance. Obsidian helps you let go of anger and sorrow.
Amazonite is the stone of courage. Its energy helps to fight bad habits with determination.
Lapis Lazuli is the gemstone that symbolizes self-awareness and helps to be oneself without fear.

In our jewellery collection you can also find enchanting beads which combine Sterling silver and gemstones.
When the beads are faceted, they reflect the light, making them sparkle beautifully. Many of Trollbeads' gemstone beads are faceted with a total of 154 facets—all crafted by hand. In the Trollbeads collection, you can also find completely round gemstones without facets. These provide a different yet intriguing look to your jewellery creations. Recently, faceted round beads have also become part of the Trollbeads collection.

The gemstones used in the Trollbeads collection are carefully selected based on where the best raw materials can be obtained. The same stones might be found several places in the world, and the colours will vary from one deposit to another. We always look for the brightest and most interesting colours and combinations of colours.

THE PROCESS
When making gemstone beads, a small chunk of the natural stone is sanded by hand on a sanding wheel. As the stone is sanded into the right size, it is also being rounded, and the hole in the middle is drilled with a diamond drill. Most of Trollbeads gemstone beads are then facetted by hand. At last, the silver core is mounted in the middle.
